Have had a frag of rainbow incinerators and utter chaos grow out over the last year on a rock. Despite near constant growth that has overtaken the rock, some of the RIs have shrunk in size and got brighter. Some others have just shrunk and melted. The UCs have fluctuated in growth, some withering away, but a few bounce back to normal size and color after seeming like goners.

Lighting and flow stable. Not sure what my parameters are but my reef has been on cruise control for years - feed the same, dose AB+ on a relatively normal schedule, perform 20% water changes every 2 weeks. Softy and few LPS make for an easy nano - everything else is growing great. Haven't seen pests.

Ever see this before and have insight? Have only seen a similar shrink and brightening in a FB group inquiry without answer.
