This is only a guess based on what little bit I could see. The web page wouldn't open. Based on what I could see the 9 gallon is about 61 gallons gph, the Sicce.5 is about 185 gallons per hour. They also have a Sicce nano that is adjustable flow regulation for 40-110gph.

i had the same problem! webpage didn't open haha. my current pump doesnt seem to be sucking in lots of water- i see floating food and debris floating by the intake and just moves right past the intake without going in. i wanted to improve my overall filtration setup and started researching return pumps. do you think having 3x the original flow would be bad?

The nano opened 100% will be turning your tank over 12 times pH. The .5 is 20x. IMO that would be to much. If it were me I would look at the nano. Im not familiar with the .5 and I'm not seeing where it is adjustable on the site I'm looking at, you might be blowing water out of your tank with the .5 :D

I think most of the Sicce's (I've had three sizes) can be adjusted by simply turning the front knob

I have the Sicce .5 on a NUVO 10 and still added a wavemaker to get some more flow in the back of the tank. I would say it's a good upgrade for a 9 gallon tank.

The AIO's seem to typically come with cheap and underpowered pumps. I now use the one that came with the Nuvo in my mixing bucket...

Edit: to answer above posts, the .5 is not adjustable...

Maybe Sicce has changed design but mine, and this pic from BRS, shows the front dial for adjusting, + or -

It is entirely possible that I completely missed this when I installed the pump in the back of my NUVO. There is a heater in the same chamber so I would not be able to check until I clean the pump. Having said that, it looks like it is adjustable. Thanks for the correction....

Its the one i have turned up 2 ckicks from max...its alot of pump for my 13.5 flouval...i have another wave maker on the opposing side for flow behind my rock...works good...lotta flow...i need to put my opposing pump at bottom facing up so it pushes more debris towards the overflow...right now its near top facing down....this is seeming counterproductive....
