hello everyone. i am very new to reef2reef so bare with me.. i have a 4" by 2" bubble coral that was given to me about a month ago by my friend. before i got it it was not being taken care of and was in a ten gallon with stagnant, unfiltered water for weeks. since i put it in it has had great polyp and tentacle extension and hasnt fluctuated; if not, gotten bigger, BUT...... since ive put it in it has been getting brown spots in its polyps. it almost looks like brown algae is IN its bubbles... i think its BJD but i dont see any tissue recession or retraction at all. IM PUZZLED HELPP!!!!

Those worms in that pic look similar but the only discrepancy is that the spots arent as defined as that. Ill make sure to take more pics from different angles today

Howdy!

I have been following this thread but have not replied because I have no direct knowledge about the browing of your bubble. It is far outside of my current experience. I am seriously hoping that it is not expelling its zooxanthellae and that is causing the color change.

My bubble regularly excretes a stringy brown material from its mouth every 2 - 3 days which I attribute to the very regular and frequent feedings it gets. I've had it in my tank for almost a year now.
I hope things work out for you. Please keep us updated!

Yes i know what you are talking about because ive seen my HUGE doughnut coral do that but i have never seen the bubble do it.. I feed every 1 1/2 - 2 days varying between frozen krill and silversides. Should i feed more or less? Should i stick to silversides?
