So I have a very relaxed work schedule and have loads of time off. I love the time off because I get to spend it with my family but I’ve been thinking lately of finding a way to make a little side reefer money in my free time. Ideally from home but I’m not limited to that, I can’t however get a second job because that would be too constricting to the family.

Any ideas??

Most people grow/frag corals. It's easier than selling fish, but the market for it is a bit oversaturated ATM. Shipping can be a PITA, so it would be best to sell locally if you can.

Another option is building stands and/or canopies if you have carpentry skills. Some LFS will even buy them if you build nice stuff.

Aquarium maintenance will probably make you the most $$$, but that is more demanding of your time/commitment level.

Thank you for the input!

I would be interested in stand building and maintenance. My real job is maintenance so working with my hands is second nature and doesn’t really feel like work.

I would go the coral route but I really feel like that eventually takes away from the joys of the hobby and I don’t want anything effecting how much I love being a reefer

h be a consultant on here, they do pay us ..right lol best wishes happy reefing
