So I messed up one of my panels while cutting it and I don’t have access to glass the same thickness. The tank is going to be 48w, 28d, 19t. The whole tank was going to be .5” but now my side panels, or at least one of them, is going to be 3/8” thick. I will add 2” euro brace to the side of tank but probably not width. Would this cause any issues?

For reference I think the garf calculator said 3/8” glass was ok with full euro brace. Thanks!

I’m no expert, by any means, but from a common sense perspective, ‘a chain is only as strong as its weakest link.’ So I would venture to say that if an “all” 3/8 tank would do to hold water safely in your dimensions, then one 3/8 side panel should be equally fine. Let’s see what other people advise...

IMHO. as a guy who has made 5 tanks of various sizes over the years, the use of 3/8" side glass that is 29" 19" should work just fine. I made a 4'x2'x14" shallow reef tank using all 3/8" glass and no euro-bracing at all. It's 8 years old and still running (at a friend's house).
