And no valve on the e drain correct? Which is what I'm used to on a 2 drain system. If you have the ball valve any problem tuning the overflow? I'm half tempted to swap the ball valve on the main drain for a gate valve when I'm setting mine up. IME gate valves just seem to work better on main drains for fine tuning when trying to get them quite.
Yep, emergency drain is wide open. It does take some time to tune the valve, it is super sensitive and you need to make micro adjustments and give it a few minutes to adjust. It’s also a little noisy at times. I put a piece of sponge behind the overflow slots too.

I'll probably install a gate valve before I fill it just for piece of mind. I hate trying to make micro adjustments with a ball valve and I'd rather do it now vs wishing I would have done it. I've had enough frustration trying to adjust RS diaphragm valves and can't imagine a ball valve will be any easier. Thanks for the info.

I mean now that I have it set, I never mess with it. I think some film just had to build up in it from the tank running for a couple days. It just tested my patience for a day or so haha.

Yours is working better than mine then! My only complaint would be the ball valves. It seems like I can never get the flow "perfect". Typically, I get it dialed in and running quietly, but there is always a slight difference between my return rate and the overflow drain rate, and over the course of time (days, sometimes weeks) I always have to fine tune it again which takes me anywhere from 15-30 minutes.

@exnisstech - I would recommend replacing the valves before filling if you are already feeling inclined to do so. It's not the end of the world, but I do wish I could make smaller adjustments to flow more easily.

I did end up putting a sponge behind the overflow grates due to the waterfall sound, I could never quite dial that out, I think it's because that T pipe from the return pump always has water splashing on it. I do agree though that I think they should look into a solution for the plumbing, because there's a lot of owners having trouble with it.
