So on Friday I went and bought my wife and daughter a lop ear bunny for Valentines Day. They have been wanting one for about a year but I was not sure about this idea because all the rabbits I ever saw as pets lived in a cage and were about as interesting as a slug.
One of my other big concerns was I t worried about how my dog would act but I figured I would deal with that. She is a mini schnauzer which are commonly used to hunt rabbit. Well apparently she did not read the same books about mini schnauzers as I did because two days later it’s like I have to dogs. The rabbit follows around my dog everywhere. He is litter trained and acts like they are best friends. I had no idea a rabbit could be trained and live throughout the house just like a cat or dog. He walks on a harness and even plays fetch with a little ball made of hay. So far so good. I’m not sure but I think it’s safe to say the rabbit and my dog won’t be a problem.
