Similar Damselfish

Hi.
I'm new to saltwater and from Sri Lanka. I can source fish from our waters very cheap compared to exuberant prices set by our sole marine fish importer in Sri Lanka.

While checking up fish for my 50 gallon tank I came across this fish which I thought until recently was the Yelllow Tail Damsel.
In fact he is named like that cause how similar he is to the yellow tail.

It seems hardly any data on the forums about him. Has any one kept these fish ? Specially in a small group as suggested by the author ?
It seems they are not that aggressive also to other fish.

I had one for a day. I thought it was a yellow tailed damsel with a longer body but now I see it was that.

I've always thought that damsels in that genus were more aggressive than the chrysiptera. Interested in what people that have kept them say.

Welcome to R2R!!! I can honestly say I’m jealous of you for living in a very diverse aquatic location( both saltwater & freshwater), you should be able to acquire a ton of fish & inverts for your tank. Some of the pomacentrus damsels are, in our hobby labeled as yellow tail damsels, I have kept them, but they tend to be more aggressive and territorial than the chrysiptera damsels. . Well its nice when it comes to sourcing local fish if you find around.
But the bad part is you cant find much if any inverts and corals. Also soem advanced aquarium supplies are hard to come by or very expensive:). Cause corals are illegal to take off reefs but anommons are there for purchase as not corals.
Also only inverts i saw were hermit crabs and cleaner shrimps. No urchins or snails it seems. Maybe casue not much demand for them.
