Simple ATS (Algae Turf Scrubber)

I saw a similar setup at the LFS and set up something similar. I got a simple Pen Plex HOB filter and attached a screen to the overflow return. It's simple, easy and cheap to set up and hang on the side of my sump. The awesome thing is that this HOB filter has detachable teeth on the return that I can zip tie the screen on without any modification at all. I liked it so much I ended up getting a second one for the other side.

Thanks. I can talk the lid off. The screen is actually hanging of the front so I'm not sure the lid affects the lighting.

It's more of a true downtown ats.

The body of the filter I just emptied out and can use as a fuge section if needed.

What screen did you zip tie on to the filter?

Those are plastic canvas screen. Like these:

That's just for reference. You can get them at the hobby store for like 50 cents. I just roughed them up and zip tie them on.
