Simplicity 1000 DC Pump

Hi, I have an extra Simplicity 1000 DFC pump that I want to use for periodic water transfers only. The unit comes with 1" and 3/4" i.d. outlet barbs. Would there be any concerns about reducing the flow to a 1/2" barb if I'm using the pump at its' lowest speed setting? Thanks!! Ken
