Sinularia Leather Spawning or Dying?

I’ve had this leather in my tank for about 4 months, and it’s always been open and colorful. This morning while I was cleaning the tank, a piece of it looked very clear and inflated, and with just the push of the flow a piece of it popped off.

I wedged it in my rock assuming it’s a spawn. You can see where it came off.

Is that possible? Is it something else? Is it dying?

Exactly why I don't keep them now . So invasive.

Yes, but I like them and easy to remove…over 10 babies here!
