Currently running an aquamaxx hob skimmer. It's ugly. Blue and yellow. And it's huge. I want a small skimmer that will fit in one of the chambers and not sit as far above tank. And it just dosent seem to skim all that great. And I hate the rubber gasket design to set skim height. It's difficult to get an accurate consistent skim.

Have heard bad things about the I'M ghost skimmer.

Any thoughts on the cadlights nano skimmer??

Reef Octopus BH2000 is probably going to be the best HOB skimmer. I have the BH1000. It was on a 20g and now on my 40B. Easy to clean. Pump is outside of the tank and outside of the skimmer. Mine has been running for about a year solid! Can not hear it at all. The pump on the BH2000 is by far better, but 18w vs 9w.
BH2000
140g- light filtration demand
75g-heavy filtration demand
BH1000
100g- lfd
55g-hfd
Aquamaxx
70-lfd
40-hfd
Those pics are from 1 day. I am running it a little wet.

Toallhisdoom, I run the Tunze 9004 on my daughters Nuvo 40. Low profile and fits in first overflow chambers. I clean the cup and do regular maintenance about once a week.
