Skimmer Help

I used API Melafix to treat my tank about three weeks ago. My problem is my skimmer still bubbles over in about two seconds even after three weeks. I've made water changes, added carbon, run gfo and even started using seachem purigen. I haven't been able to use my skimmer at all. The skimmer is an Aquamaxx co-2. I don't know what else to try. I hate to keep wasting salt if there's something else I should be doing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Couple things for ya, have you tried to raise the skimmer in the sump? Next would be to remove the skimmers and rinse it out with vinegar.

Never thought about raising it. I'll take it out, rinse it and then raise. Thanks for your input
