i have a reef octopus 150 in my sump and I noticed it is putting out tons of micro bubbles from the output. Anyway to get rid of this? The skimmer is 6 months old and is in the recommended water depth and seems to work fine besides the bubbles.

You could try a piece of filter floss or other sponge partially covering the outlet. I had a Reef Octopus a while ago and ended up turning the output to face the main skimmer body and then wedged a piece of filter floss between the outlet and main body to both reduce noise and bubbles. Hopefully you can kind of picture that.

It has been in use for 6 months in the tank but I have not use it for a few days and I just took it apart to clean the whole thing. Could this cause the issue?

I thought wedging something near the outlet would start causing the skimmer to overflow.

Fresh cleaning will cause it and it'll go away after a short period of running. I can't give a exact duration because every skimmer different. It should just be going back through the break in period.

Belive it or not it's the tiny little bit of bacteria that courts the inside of the skimmer causing the micro bubbles
Or actually the lack of slime. That's what the breakin period is. It gets coated and runs smoother.

Well it's been almost 3 weeks and it has just as many bubbles coming out of the outlet as it did 3 weeks ago. I see all the bubbles going below the bubble plate and right out of the outlet. I currently have a mesh sock on the outlet to catch the bubbles but I do not want to continue to do this. Any advice to get this to stop?

I do not believe so. I do have a line connected to the air inlet that runs outside. If the airflow was restricted I would think it would overflow with water. I have no issues with the skimmer besides the micro bubbles. It skims great and works fine besides the bubbles.

Well..
if you restrict the flow even a little bit the skimmer bubbles get much smaller...
try just seeing if it is restricted at all..

I took off the line for about 30 minutes when I read your comments to see if it might be possible but it had no change. I also blew threw the line to see if had any resistance and it did not. I called coralvue to see if they would be able to help me. They told me to send an email to them, so I am waiting to hear back.

Coralvue told me it is normal. I do not believe it is normal, since I have had a couple other reef octopus skimmers and never had this issue.
