Hello my fellow fish peeps. I purchased a royal exclusive skimmer with a red dragon pump from kijiji ( mistake i know) after a month I had to replace the motor, and to me it's never really been that efficient at its job, i believe the reason is that the air line tends to get a very small amount of water pushing back and causing a but of a pulse at the collection cup that doesn't allow for the skim to reach its top limit,
The question is if I don't have the ozone hooked up can I just plug that hose connection and problems solved?
Skimmer is set to the recommend depth at 9", and have adjusted it up and down with out any changes to its performance
100g display 100g sump w about 70 g of water
TIA

How old is your tank. New tanks do not produce very much skimmate.

Also pics would help with diagnosis
