Skimmer Question [Red Sea 130d]

Hello from British Columbia,
We purchased a Red Sea 130d aquarium a few days ago. The salt water & live sand are in but the Skimmer isn't producing foam. Did I do something wrong? Should the skimmer be producing foam at this point?
