Skimmer question

I bought a bubble Magus 3.5 and plan to put it in my 15 gallon sump. The thing looks awesome and has good reviews, but comes with very poor instructions, I had to google on how to put it together. I understand the air tube for air intake, and cup drainage to remove the skimmed out crap. The skimmer sits directly in the sump water and has a port and pump on it to suck water in.

My question: how and where does the skimmer put water back into the tank?

You could put it in a bucket or tub with just freshwater and turn it on just to get an idea of how it works before placing it in your tank.
