My system has been up for nearly 3 months. Lights are on, have a small selection of some stony corals, 2 clowns, 5 hermits, 5 astrea snails and 2 Mexican turbos.

Just doing a 3 gallon weekly water change, nitrates around 5 ppm. I have a BM curve 3 extreme that is a total piece of garbage. I have it raised to about 5 inches depth and still completely boiling over. It’s considerably loud, barely adjustable. I can’t get any skimmate.

Anyone have skimmer suggestions for me, preferably controllable dc pump and quiet. Thanks!

Maybe there is nothing for it to skim.......
skip a couple of water changes and see what it does.
I get that logic but my last tank, a 42g cadlights my RO classic 110 nearly immediately was pulling a consistent skim out of the box. I feel like currently based on the amount of turbo snail poop and food in the tank I should get something. Regardless, it’s loud and doesn’t appear to have much controllability.
Tanks is young so as @FUNGI mentioned maybe there's nothing to skim out. You may not even need a skimmer. I'm running 4 tanks but only using one skimmer on my tank with a lot of large fish that get fed a lot.
I likely don’t need a skimmer I get that, I’m merely asking for a better one. I feel it’s a loud piece of crap lol.

If its set correctly (7~8 water) and broken in already, and its only foaming/boiling over, then its something you are dosing....or the food. (i.e. My skimmer stops all production when I feed flakes)..then after 3 hours, start foaming again.....

When you say your skimmer stops production do you mean it stops collecting skimmate and boils over?

I thought with a small bio load, raising it helps compensate? I got my sump set to the proper depth but have it up on a diy stand.
