Skimmer waste going into CO2 scrubber

Any ideas or suggestions for my setup? Skimmer foam keeps slowly getting into my CO2 scrubber from the tubing. Equipment is a Reef Octo 110 INT with a 3D printed lid ring for circulation and BRS Universal CO2 Scrubber. Sorry in advance for the cable management jumpscare but i'll attach a picture

Perhaps add an inverted U shaped section in the tubing to trap the liquid at the lower end?

A sponge in front of the tubing intake might also work to keep the liquid out?

You should use one of these between your skimmer out and co2 scrubber in ports.

Thanks that's a good idea i'll get some more tubing tomorrow and give the U trap a go, i'm assuming it would be similar to a sink setup right?

And for the sponge thing i've seen people suggest it before but I just feel like a wet sponge would just prevent air from going through and it would defeat the purpose

What kind of disaster could it cause? Its been going on for a while with no issues other than reducing the effectiveness of the scrubber media

it will fill up your canister and release soda like into your aquarium= disaster

Ah gotcha. Its never gotten even close to that bad, at the most like 2-3 tbsp worth of liquid. Already put in my order for the skimmate collector so should be good
