I am setting up my new 40 breeder for a fish only tank. It will have maybe 6 fish so the load won't be extreme. It will also have a 40 breeder for a sump. A couple socks, about 20 lbs of reef rock and some foam and felt pads for polishing. I have looked at skimmers for weeks and am down to 2. Which one would you choose.

They look like the same skimmer on my end

I have the 150 on a 140 gallon tank and it works great. I have a ton of bio system and have it set to skim very dry about an inch above the sump level. I empty about once every month anymore.

Hello and happy reefing. I run an Octopus and love it. Judging by the foam and pads you are coming from fresh water. In a salt water tank those tend to cause high nitrates adding food for algae. Just filter socks should be fine but should be cleaned every 3 to 4 days too remove waist before it breaks down.
