my reef store is asking me to buy a 105 gallon skimmer for a 29 gallon tank....they ordered me a smaller one then realized it was not a hob skimmer so they offered me the larger one for the same price...130.00....is this too large for my small tank.....I am a newbee and don't want to be misled.

Welp, is it to big, no. But what ya need to do is measure the thing and make sure it fits on your tank, then if it does, its a good deal, propably not the best skimmer, but should do ya ok on a 30g tank.
