What is the difference between a dry skimmer and a wet skimmer and which type do you prefer? Thanks.

I've not heard of different types that do this, but more about how you choose to adjust the skimmer to produce wet or dry skimmate. I'd go with something you can adjust to suit your needs.

You have to adjust the skimmer for dry or wet there Is no wet or dry skimmer. Most of them you just move the collection cup up or down.

Wet skimming refers to the skimmer removing alot of water while skimming
Dry skimming refers to the skimmer just using the foam fractioning part to remove the organics, and very little water beiong removed from the system.
Most skimmers nowadays are adjustable, and its really your choice in the matter how you want the skimmate. I prefer the dry skimmate on mine.
