After about 4 years my skimz skimmer pump died. Wondering if it worth buying the newer Skimz QuietPro 4 skimmer pump or just switching to a different brand of skimmer? Any thoughts?

Four years is not a bad life. before assuming it is the pump, it may be the impeller. Try cleaning the impeller well and inspecting it for scoring on surface. Clean the inside hole also. When plugged in, if you can feel it hum or hear it hum, may be the impeller afterall

I opened it up and it was pretty clean in there, I tried a different power supply and controller on the pump and nothing the pump is dead.
Ended up just buying a new pump, wanted to try a different skimmer but too expensive!
