I just noticed that one of the eyes of my cleaner shrimp was not fully round/looked a bit cracked/has some sharp edges. the other eye is perfectly round. additionally, the shrimp would use one of her legs and pick or scratch the busted eye.

do you guys think anything significant is wrong? will her eye be able to heal or something?

I see what you mean. Left eye has a partially irregular surface, as if it has been damaged or eroded.

No idea what caused it or whether it's dangerous.

I wouldn't do anything except feed it well and see if the problem persists after the next molt.

so she just molted, the left eye (originally damaged one) is a smaller and opaque compared to the right eye. is that normal? also- how often should the shrimp be molting? i want to make sure its not from stress. I've had her for about 2 weeks, and she recently laid eggs

Sounds like the left eye might be done for.

Shouldn't be too big of a problem. Might come back with more molts
