For the lack of a better explanation. They look like a pile of poo or like a coiled cobra.

Why kill them?

I get them on my koralias all over and I bleach them then soak them in clr to dissolve any calcium based life forms. Then flush the parts in lots of hot water.

is it this?

The vermitid snail is yet another critter that lives in a tube. These filter feed by throwing out a mucous "net" to catch food. Most of the time, you won't see the worm but will be wondering what the "spiderwebs" in your tank are. Here's your culprit. They are harmless but can irritate corals if their nets are too close.

Can they irritate fish? And if so Will it stress them enough that they become susceptible to ich? THAT is the only explination that will make sense to ME haveing ONE fish that has it . And I did see my SIX LINE in some sort of weblike thing the other day, but he is FINE just the Gramma showing symptons.

Flow doesn't seem to inhibit their routine.
