Can anyone help me identify what this stuff is? It's mostly green and translucent, looks kinda like extremely fat chaeto? It appears kind of squiggly as well, but since it's translucent I can't really make it out well.

Yeah that is ulva. It is an extremely fast growing macroalgae. Tangs seem to enjoy it.

Thanks for the reassurance I was worried that my chaeto got sick or something before I pulled it out to be honest. I guess algaebarn grows them together or something since that's where I got my chaeto

ulva can sneak in from shells and corals too.

That’s Ulva. It’s good algae. You have instant tang food on hand. :)
too bad I have a dainty 40~50 gal drop off so no tank is ever growing in this tank sadly. By the way, do I have to worry about this going sexual the same way I do for caulerpa? Im reading that it does go sexual but most people dont seem to worry about it that much

Nothing like Caulerpa at all. If it did, it would be easy to remove.
