Hey Reef2Reef community,
Just wanted to show off my mantis shrimp named Wreck-It Ralph.
I know there is a mantis shrimp community but thought i would show this amazing creature to a wider audience.
I feed him/her (haven't been able to sex yet) bristleworms that I collect from my main display tank, along with Ghost Shrimps, and mussels

I plan to be active and record videos of different types of food like ghost shrimp, mussels, crabs etc... so hit subscribe if you like to join me on my journey.

Also have a facebook page set up for him/her
https://www.facebook.com/WreckItRalphMantisShrimp/

Hope you enjoy.

Thanks, yes I have read a lot about fin rot.
From what I have gathered it is not so much the lighting but more the water quality.
If you see a lot of mantis shrimp tanks out there they are not in the best condition (you can tell parameter wise).
In my case keeping SPS corals which are very sensitive to poor water parameters should help make sure i maintain water quality.

I test parameters in this tank every 3-5 days and do weekly water changes.

Mine is still in my display tank (she came in as a hitchhiker). I don't see her very often but she seems to be doing OK. Haven't lost any fish but I have lost a few inverts. I keep thinking about setting up another tank just for her but then I think... more maintenance... where am I going to put it.... more equipment to purchase...more maintenance...my husband will kill me I already have three tanks....more maintenance....

I would imagine these would be kept alone in a tank? Are there inhabitants that could live in a tank with these shrimp?
Yup he is the only one in the tank atm.
Might try some damsels (for some reason she loves damsels... dominos, 3 striped.... and i have an achilles tang she doesn't look at for 2 secs)
