I think they figured out what the issue was and resolved it. But still they aren't transparent about what happened. Your salt may be perfectly fine.

Kinda sounds like the issue with Fritz Mardel Coppersafe. Couple threads on here with really inconsistent concentrations, which if using label directions would overdose the fish.
They denied any issue from what I've seen.

I like instant ocean. I figured out exactly what I need to dose in each batch to match the tank.

45ml muratic acid
200ml calcium solution
700ml magnesium solution.

Then I'm right where I want to be with a bit of aeration.

Is that for the entire 200g at once? I only need 5-8ml of muriatic to get 42g from 11dkh to around 8.

It was to drop 60 gallons from 12 to 7.5.

I use 20mls on 44 gallons (50 gallon bag). Drops to about 6.8 or so.

If you are not using a whole container of IO, then you need to dry-mix the salt... it can settle like any other kind will (and do). Don't believe any manufacturer that tells you that their salt does not settle since it is a uniform size. Especially the salt from overseas can settle a lot since it takes a long, bumpy trip.

I use an entire bag of salt and then a small container every time I make new salt water. So mixing isn't too much of an issue with the whole bag being dumped in.
