Anyone know what type of fish these are? We found babies on both ends of our tank hiding in small rock openings, there’s about 20. We have a pair of clowns, 3 chromis, 1 fire fish we purchased from a tank full of fire fish, and one scooter blenny… I don’t think it’s the blenny though.

I find a hard time seeing them but the swimming motion actually looks like mysis shrimp to me and they often make a home in a corner of a tank. But if you can see them well and they are fish then clown certainly has a good breeding rate in display tanks

100% shrimp. Not baby fish, but still very cool!

I was thinking mysid at first also but I really think they maybe fish. Need to see in person but a better video might be useful.
Here’s a better video I just took. I’m still a bit of a newbie so I’m not sure what live mysid shrimp look like but this videos show them a bit clearer.

Yeah those are mysid shrimp. I've got a ton in my 30g no predators for them to worry about the angler doesnt even register them. In your tank they will be food eventually all your fish will want to eat them.

So if these are shrimp, how’d they get in my tank? I haven’t seeded any and I haven’t placed new rock since I started the tank months ago. I do feed frozen shrimp but they couldn’t have survived that, I imagine anyways. I love having so many in my tank but curiosity is killing me now lol.

You had to use live rock either from an lfs or ocean. Mine came from the lfs in the live rock I used.

Well any live rock, coral, algae you put in could have some. Sometimes even copepod packs have them cause when they are first hatched they are very small.
