Smallest Tang and minimum size?

Hey everyone, just starting out with a small 10 gallon and 2 clowns.

Eventually I want to get into tangs, but I know they get huge the majority of them. What is the smallest one I could get and the minimum tank size it can go into (for one tang fish)

Keep in mind I won't be upgrading for another year, if I had it my way I would upgrade tommorow lol

My LFS guy told me I was brave for doing a 10 gallon as my first saltwater tank and said if I can keep it stable and stuff then I can handle anything lol

Probably a tomini tang in a 4 foot tank.

I would also say 4ft minimum for smaller species but I believe the bigger the better. I moved from a 72x24x24" tank to an 84x30x25" tank because I felt my tangs needed more room. I keep a couple in a smaller tank but only because I can move them out to other tanks if needed which is not an option everyone has.

I like to say minimum 6 foot long tank. But keep in mind that just cause its 6 foot doesnt mean all tangs can go in there, some are massive. I currently have 3 tangs: a unicorn, purple, and a sailfin in my 8 foot long 300 gallon tank with dense rockwork. They are very active and always swimming around
