Snail Extravaganza

I had a random thought yesterday. I think it would be cool to have a tank with nothing but snails and algae / macro for them to eat. Anyone else ever consider this, or am I just weird?

I have seen some freshwater planted tanks with mostly nails in them but not a marine aquarium
