Snail ID....whelk or conch?

Sold to me as an "atlantic conch".
But now kinda sus as conch are generally considered tropical snails as whelks are considered a colder water type.
I know they get mixed up quite commonly. I dont have a trained eye but im kind of leaning toward whelk.....

Definitely a conch foot and looks nothing like a predatory whelk.

Dang. Might as well be a predatory whelk.
I just read up on them and apparently they are more related to a whelk than a conch. It doesnt seem like a good mix for a reef but the only snails I have in my system are nassarius so maybe they'll be left alone. Also, no inverts for it to prey on. I really like the way it looks and it already has an interesting vibe. Hopefully it doesnt become a PITA.
