Snail question..

Ok..I know this might not be the right forum section for this, but not really sure where to post this.

I know the type of snail, snail is doing fine, but WTHeck is growing off it’s shell.
I first thought it could be micro algae, but when I gave it a light tug, the snail released from the glass and it didn’t budge.
All I know is that every few days it gets longer, now it looks like it has two leaves on it.
Been in this hobby over 15 years. Have not seen this one before.

Its macrolicious which is a macroalgae
 
Thanks.. honestly have not seen this one before.. it’s stuck on that shell harder then a fat kid holding a plate of cake!
