Snails activating my ato.

I own the infinia 190.5 waterbox, 2 years old. Lately iv been having this issue, that big turbo snails hanging on the weir activating my ATO, they low the water level enough to trigger the ATO as you can see it did it multiple times and it overflowed my sensor. I turned my ato off for the night. How i can prevent this issue?

Hmm… something to physically keep them away from the weir teeth… does it have to be aesthetically pleasing?

I’m imagining using smaller zip ties around each weir tooth, with their tails protruding into the tank, possibly cut to a sharper point… just something to deter them from crawling right up to blocking the teeth…

As well as the above suggestion, putting the ato on a timer having it only coming on 2-3 a day for a minute at a time, would not solve the issue but would reduce the number of false ato triggers.

But I don’t think you really have a problem, if you work out what your daily evaporation rate is and how much extra the snails are adding, I would guess it’s minimal at most, from your figures you posted, the amounts look normal for your size tank. Remember that a extra ato fill just means the next fill will be delayed.
