Have about 10 astrea and 10 cerith snails in a 43gal 2 month old tank... my first tank. Added the snails when the diatoms were thick dark brown and now they have nearly mowed down all diatoms so rocks are bright white again. This happened much faster than I thought otherwise I would have just bought a few of each.

How do keep them happy until the next round of nasties shows up? My understanding is that these guys may not be the best for hair algae or cyano. What would should I add to this lineup, assuming some other algae is lurking around the corner?
