How come some snails (shells) are fully covered in algae and others are completely bare? Wouldn't it be great if dry rock could contain this same coating, so one does not have the algae battle. Seems that my Trochus snails are algae free while others are covered and is a real pain to try to remove. Thanks for your thoughts.

Yea all depends where they hide sleep etc. I have some covered in vermitid snails. And have some bleach white since they come out of water some times lol. (Nerites)
