Snorkeling in Bahamas (Atlantis)?

I’m going to Atlantis in the Bahamas next week and I want to go snorkeling. Are there any good spots near Atlantis that I should go to? I just bought a water proof case for my Canon G11 and hope to get some good pictures to share with everyone.

You should PM Pufferpunk as I know she does a lot of diving I am sure she can lead you to a good spot.

if memory serves, (been there a couple of times) there is nothing really next too the Atlantis. its mostly sandy beaches. there are some small rocky islands out a bit, but easier accessed by the numerous jet ski's available for short (30-60 min)rentals.
There were some breakwaters not too far away, but not a short swim. there are many operations that will come pick you up at the hotel and take you to some snorkel locations.

There are some great snorkeling areas on the island, but i dont think any where near Atl.

Just ask the concierge about it, they will set you up with the companys that do it. The one place did a kayak trip out to a reef, then snorkeled for 2 hours, then kayaked back. It was a blast!
