Varying opinions as to whether or not they will eat larger fish, but definitely no bite sized fish like clowns as they will almost certainly be hunted over time. And snowflake eels can get pretty large, so bite sized is often bigger than you think. Depending on the size of your tank, you could go with larger tangs and stuff, but that might still be a little risky. If there’s anyone that owns a snowflake eel out there, what tank mates do you suggest?
I have 4 morays, one being a snowflake. My snowflake does not eat tank mates or fish, but she will eat any shrimps or crabs. If there’s anyone that owns a snowflake eel out there, what tank mates do you suggest?
I've kept one in a fowlr with butterflys, tangs, lg angle, radiata lion, clown trigger, miniatus grouper w/o issue. Took to hand feeding and was never an issue until I had to remove it from the tank. Had to remove all the rock just to get at it..lolIf there’s anyone that owns a snowflake eel out there, what tank mates do you suggest?
Probably not for long.My snowflake shares his home with a fuzzy dwarf lionfish, a longnose hawkfish, and a lightening maroon clownfish.
Care to elaborate?Probably not for long.
As the eel grows, the clown and hawkish are goners.Care to elaborate?
I'm not so sure about that...especially the maroon. He lives in an anemone and is a vicious SOB.As the eel grows, the clown and hawkish are goners.
