Currently I am using all for reef in my 20 gallon LPS tank. My PH usually sits around 8.0. The last few days it’s been nice outside so we have had our windows open all day and I have noticed an increase in PH and an increase in ALK consumption. Seeing the benefits of the PH increase has me considering switching to 2 part with soda ash in order to increase my PH. Does anyone have an opinion on this?

I imagine I’ll get the suggestion to run the skimmer airline outside. However, it’s a AIO peninsula and the only chamber that could fit a skimmer is currently occupied by an algae turf scrubber.

So I dose soda ash throughout a 24 hour period, dose kalk at night and connected the skimmer to a C02 scrubber. I would say without the kalk at night, my pH would plummet to very worrying levels during the night but that soda ash gives a boost as well.

I did a thread on how I balanced soda ash, kalk and the scrubber on my old tank here -https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/my-experience-raising-ph.394826/
