I have been looking around to see the best guide to dosing sodium nitrates. I have a Waterbox Infinia 150.4 tank. I estimate there is about 145 gallons of water. I am going to start dosing Sodium Nitrate but am confused on how to mix and how to dose... How much Sodium nitrate do mix with one gallon of water to make a solution to dose with a dosing pump? Im sitting at 0 PPM nitrates and 0.06 PPM phosphates. Im happy with the phosphates but I desire 5 PPM nitrates. Could you help me understand?

For many folks, ammonium bicarbonate may be a better option than direct nitrate dosing:

But to dose sodium nitrate, use this calculator and the entry for nitrate from potassium nitrate, which is close enough. I recommend dosing 2-5 ppm nitrate per day for a few days and see what happens to it, then adjust as needed. Exact stock dosing concentration doesn't really matter as long as it dissolves.
