soft growth on chalice coral

what do you think this soft wavy growth is on the underside of my chalice coral?

I've already ruled out ET's hand...

The top growth in the second image looks like a sponge. I'm not sure what "ET's hand" might be.

I wouldn’t be so quick as to rule it out as ET’s hand. Have you seen the tip of the longest finger glow?
