On a serious note - related?

He's the child from a sister I never knew I didn't have.

(Sorry, it's a weird twisted story how he wound up @Katrina71 son and my nephew)

Update: I gave the puffer fish back to the LFS. I felt that it wasnt really the home it needed. Its going to one of the guys on the island who has a 600g.
Good call

Hate to hear this because I wanted to watch it grow but also know it was the right move.
What's next?

Oh I was kidding.

I will find a kole tang soon. That's what I have my heart set on.

They are a really under rated tank. I was doing some diving last year in Hawaii and came across a handful of them on a wreck. I was surprised at the size of them and at the depth I had to do a double take. I checked my computer and yup, 90 feet give or take a few feet. Great color and I'd wager an easy 7 to 9" in size. I've always had one in my tanks and probably will get another here shortly.

You mentioned color. I'm reading up on dottybacks and assessors now. I'm waiting for some corals to mature before I make a mad dash and add some more damsels and a dottyback or assessor or two in there. Like the updates, sorry to hear about the puffer.

The diving sounds awesome!

Assessors are way more timid than any of the dottybacks. Even the orchid dottyback.

Maybe an orchid/assessor combo would work.
When we kept just 1 royal gramma the dottybacks would harass/kill it.

You may want to stick with one group.

Thanks for the information. I'm not ready to add any more fish so just reading up. I saw a yellow assessor and thought it was really striking in color but never owned one before let alone what would make a good tank mate :)

Update on the tank:

Woke up this morning to my tank with ink in it from the sea hare. Apparently the sea hare thought it would be nice to eat the non existent algae ON TOP of the Anemone. Sea Hare released its beautiful purple ink into the water column and now i have lost more fish. Holy cow, im absolutely losing it.

Just finished a 100% water change.

Fish that were lost during the inking:
Yellow tang
Scopas Tang
Green Clown Goby
Two baby clowns
Florida Pearly Jawfish

Inverts that were lost:
Obviously: The Sea Hare
Three Sand Shifting Sea Stars
Two Cleaner Shrimp

All Coral are doing fine as they are softies.. thats a win i guess.
However the plate coral is very upset. The torches are back to normal
NPS Gorg is upset.
Mushrooms split due to stress i believe. I now have 2 extra mushrooms

Clam is unphased but I heard it takes a while for the clam to show signs.

Coco worm is doing fine. Not bothered.

Fish that are alive
Dragon Goby: is doing fine, moving along.
FireFish: A bit stressed, but is eating.
Sailfin Tang (My Baby): Is kicking rear end, doing good.
Hippo Tang: Looks fine, there is loss of coloration on the first spike in the dorsal fin. Usually blue/black to white.
Black Ice Snowflake Clown: Unbothered.
Duo Zebra dartfish: Keep going in and out of caves, stressed.
Engineer Goby: Has created a new hole to chill in, very dark in color.

I am running carbon just incase there is remains of the inking on the rocks.

LESSON LEARNED.
