I have a 60 gallon system that has been running a few months. Still a pretty small bioload. CUC, 2 clowns and a juvenile yellow tang. I have noticed a lot of skimate is crusting on the neck of my skimmer and not a lot is making it to the collection cup. I feel the hardened skimate is hurting the overall performance of my skimmer. Anyone have similar problems or advice? Water level is between 8 and 9 inches.

I run my 60S at 7”-7 1/2” in my sump and set the bubbles at just an inch below the lip in the cup. A bit gunks up on the neck but it’s still being removed as I clean the cup out every few days.
