something smothering my gsp

Hi there can anyone id this thing thats smoothing my gsp, its grown rapidly over the last few days its a grey/beige colour (only looks purple under lights) with a rubber texture with holes in it.
Any advice what it is and how to remove it would be greatly appreciated

No picture posted, but gray/beige with holes sounds like a sponge. Not sure about removal, only way I can think of is physical removal.

I'm still thinking sponge... others may have other ideas....

It is an Ascidiae oder Ascidiacea.

It is a filter and harmless.

Hi Elisabeth it looks good but it killing my gsp and growing really quick like doubled in size in a week

Removed with tweezers and toothbrush come off easy reattached it to a rock on its own ( i like the look of it 😂
