He was totally fine yesterday and all of the sudden today half of one heads is pinkish red and retracted. Is it splitting or just irritated.

Looks like something's on him try sucking it off with a baster.
 
Wow I feel dumb. So I did blow it off and turns out it was a molt shell from my pep shrimp. Haha thanks a ton.
