Hello! I’ve had this torch for close to a year. Got it as one head and it split into two, one of the split heads may be splitting further, I can’t quite tell. The torch has looked great since I got it, and though I’ve had trouble with other torches in the past, this has been awesome until recently. In the past few weeks I’ve noticed it not opening fully. The color has been fine, but it just hasn’t looked happy.
Then last weekend, I was away for a few days and had a someone feeding our pets while we were out. They’ve done a great job for us before, but when I got back the tank smelled, so I tested it and phos was 0.90. I think the sitter overfed pellets. I quickly did a water change and over the past week have brought phosphates down to 0.22 (and falling). I think the spike may have lasted two days max. If this is a product of the spike, no corals (softies, LPS, SPS) appear to be impacted.
Does anyone have advice for anything I can do to help it out of this funk? Am I just seeing continued splitting behavior?
The bluer photos are of it in daylight, and the white light photos are after dark tonight.
Thanks in advance!
