Speckled Nems

Well plain and simple, do speckled nems keep their speckles for life or no?

Bonus: Show pics of nems with speckles that are 2yrs+.

I was curious because I've seen a lot of nems called acid rain and speckled but I didn't want to invest in one if they lost that.

Well, I have an interesting tidbit to add. I bought a regular green bta which I've now had about 10 or 11 years. It was not speckled. About 5 years ago it randomly became very much speckled and has been ever since. No idea why.

Do you have before an after photos? That sounds pretty awesome, did it split at all and the babies end up normal or speckled?

It splits about every 2 years, so it's split about 5 times. They all look however the big guy does. The last couple were very speckled. I just sold one about a month ago. I'll try and dig up an old picture.

Oh that's not too bad of a track record for it splitting. I always thought it took years and years unless people hand split them.
