Spectrum and intensity

Just an off thought as im trying to tune my bbox 165w led. Has anyone ever taken a spectrometer and a par and or lux meter down to the reef and taken measurements? It seems that the light manufacturers and coral farmers would want this info. I know we have accepted par and spectrum ranges, but wouldnt a real reading at different times and seasons give us a better way?
