I have some live rock covered in spirorbid shells or whatever you call the calcium deposits they leave. The underlying issue that caused tbeir population explosion has been corrected, but are the deposits going to eventually break down on their own or do i need to manually remove them with brushes and/or chemicals?

To add to this, if the shells on the live rock are essentially stuck there until removed with a wire brush or an acid bath, will coraline grow over them? I really dont want to rip my tank apart, but I will if I am stuck with white dots on my rock until the end of time.

Coralline will grow over them in time.
Removing them would be purely aesthetic, there's nothing wrong with having them.
