Splitting hammer corals

I have a hammer that split and one side is looking rough or dead. Can I cut them at the split and save the good side or are there any videos on how to do this

I’d use a Dremel to chop off the head if you want.

If you use a bone cutter, it might crack the whole coral

Yea a razor blade is not cutting through essentially rocks.

With enough force hammers can be squished with just hands, but you aren’t cutting it then. You’re just smashing

Agreed, you really need at least a Dremel tool here. If you have a Harbor Freight store in your area, you can get a very inexpensive generic rotary tool and diamond cutters that I would think would be fine for what you want it for:

I have a couple dremels thats no problem just need to get the diamond wheel I was going to try it with one of the little saw blade looking wheels

I'd be careful with that, you want a quick, clean cut. If it takes too long to cut, you can actually start to over heat the coral from friction. You can also fine the diamond wheels cheap on Amazon and eBay.
